MIHA DEŠMAN

Miha Dešman is born in 1956 in Gornji Grad, Slovenia. Graduates from Ljubljana Faculty of Architecture in 1981 and continues postgraduate studies at the IUAV in Venice, Italy. He is freelance architect, a member of Association of Architects Ljubljana and founder and member of DESSA Gallery since 1982. With Katarina Pirkmajer Dešman he founded Atelje Dešman (1983 – 2003). Together with partners he founded architectural studio DANS arhitekti in 2004. Since 2010 he is professor of history and architectural design at the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Architecture.

Since 1986 member of the editorial of AB, International Magazine for Theory of Architecture and its executive editor from 1995. Member of the editorial board and editor of the reference books in KRT publishing house, that received the Plečnik award (1988) on the field of theory of architecture. Author of over 250 articles and essays, published in books, magazines and other professional and popular media. President of the Association of Architects Ljubljana between 2003 and 2006 and president of the executive board of the Plečnik Found from 2006.

VLATKA LJUBANOVIĆ

Vlatka Ljubanović is born in 1971 in Rijeka, Croatia. She graduates at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia in 1998 and graduates at the Metropolis master course at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain in 2001.

She works as a freelance architect in Ljubljana since 1998 and together with Rok Bogataj founded a studio for architecture Nova stran. Together with partners she founded architectural studio DANS arhitekti in 2004. Vlatka Ljubanović is a member of Association of Architects Ljubljana and member of its executive committee (2008-2014), member of DESSA Gallery and member of DESSA Gallery board since 2012. Since 2012 she also works as a teaching assistant at the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Architecture.

With a group of authors she receives the runner up prize at the Europan international competition in 1998. In addition to her architectural work, she has collaborated in art and design projects including book design for the »A map to paradise from Ljubljana« exhibition of Peter Greenaway in 2000 and costumography for the theatre piece »Project 5: Manifestations of home« in 2005 both produced by the Muzeum Institute of Art Production, Mediation and Publishing. As architectural consultant she cooperated with the artist Marjetica Potrč.

The architectural projects developed by DANS arhitekti received numerous awards on architectural competitions. They were nominated for the Piranesi Award (2008) and Plečnik Award (2010). Recent recognitions include Golden Pencil Award (2013), the first National Award for wooden construction (2013), and nomination for the Brick Award (2014). Her works were presented at numerous international exhibitions and published at various venues and journals worldwide.

EVA FIŠER BERLOT

Eva Fišer Berlot is born in Ljubljana in 1969. Graduates at the Faculty of Architecture Ljubljana in 1997. Free lance architect in Ljubljana since 1998 when starts working with architectural studio Atelje Dešman (1998-2003). She is a member of Association of Architects Ljubljana and the DESSA Gallery. Together with partners she founded architectural studio DANS arhitekti in 2004.

The architectural projects developed by DANS arhitekti received numerous awards on architectural competitions. Their works have been exhibited in Slovenia and abroad and published in numerous international and Slovenian publications. They were nominated for the Piranesi Award (2008) and Plečnik Award (2010). KATARINA PIRKMAJER DEŠMAN

Katarina Pirkmajer Dešman is born in 1957 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Graduates from Ljubljana Faculty of Architecture in 1981 and continues postgraduate studies at the IUAV in Venice, Italy. She is a freelance architect, a member of Association of Architects Ljubljana, founder of DESSA Gallery (1981) and member of the DESSA Gallery board since 2012. With Miha Dešman she founded Atelje Dešman (1983 – 2003). Together with partners she founded architectural studio DANS arhitekti in 2004.
