Slovenj Gradec High School with a Sports Hall

Two buildings, the school and the sports hall, are connected with a skybridge. The urban design is informed by the school axis, which rises from the school’s plaza, runs along the stream and up the terrace slope to plateau Štibuh and Koroška Street. The design was tailored to a constrained site, yielding a compact school with a minimal floor surface. The floor plan is a rectangle with classrooms along its perimeter and a central core which continues into an atrium in the upper storeys. The corridors are shaped as a double letter H with side staircases at either end.
